John Stratton Orr Sr., 60, of Decatur died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital.
Mr. Orr was born in Decatur July 12, 1951. He was a graduate of The University of the South, B.S., and Alabama A&M, MBA. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was active in the community. He served as treasurer of the Port Authority for many years and was in the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Martha Wood Orr; children, Paige Clancy (Chris) and John Orr (Melissa), all of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Lillian Clancy and Willa Clancy; one sister, Charlotte Orr Moores of Decatur; one brother, R.W. Orr Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today, June 2, 2012, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. John J. Skelly officiating. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
