Harold (Dean) Parker, 81, of Decatur, passed away on February 19, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Roselawn Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home with Bro Hal Daigre officiating. He will be laid to rest at Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Dean graduated from Priceville High School in 1959. He later served in the United States Army and the Alabama National Guard. Dean was a member of the DAV, Disabled American Veterans. He worked at McGriff Tire Inc. for 34 years, serving in many leadership rolls throughout his career. Dean was an active member of First Independent Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Parker, married 52 years upon her death (2017).
He is survived by his son, Keith and his wife, Jeanie; two granddaughters, Shelby and Samantha; two sisters, Pat Black of Arizona and Diane Nelms and one brother, Pete, both of Decatur.
In lieu of flowers, please make any and all donations to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Pallbearers will be Michael Glenn, Braxton Glenn, Richie Riggs, Ricky Riggs, RV Martin and Randall Lott.
