Bobby Lee Terry

Bobby Lee Terry, 81, of Decatur, passed away on February 10, 2024. Visitation will be on February 15, 2024 from 12pm to 1pm and the service will begin at 1pm at Roselawn Funeral Home with Joe Pitt officiating. He will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery with Military Honors.

Pallbearers: Hayden Terry, Andrew Terry, Gavin Terry, Austin Hollis, Matt Gleason and Gerald Pitt.

Bobby is survived by his sisters, Marie Wilson and Charity Decker; children, David Terry, Dennis Terry, and Brian Terry; grandchildren, Hayden Terry, Hilton Hollis, Andrew Terry, Gavin Terry, and Stephanie McDowell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. Terry and Sallie Terry; siblings, Frank Terry, Lucian Terry, and Betty Sue Soldal; child, Darryl Lane Terry.

At 19, Bobby joined the Air Force to serve his beloved nation and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan as part of the 6143rd Air Police Squadron. After his enlistment was over, he returned home to take care of his family. From working as a carpenter, and metal fabricator to home manufacturing, he was a Jack of all Trades. He loved God and his family and always tried to help others when he could.

Bobby had a great love for the outdoors. From all the hunting and fishing stories the family would hear and even those that those who went with him would share. He could catch a fish in a mud puddle if you gave him a stick and string. When it came to hunting, he would sit from sun up to sun down and wait for the prize to walk or fly in front of him. If it was a day when nothing came by, he would just sit and enjoy Mother Nature. He would take his kids, grandkids, and nephews fishing as much as he could until the time came for them to take him. His biggest fishing buddy, his nephew James Lee, helped him create many memories on the water. While the late Kenneth King and his son Brian tried to get him in the woods as much as possible.

Dad, while you are in heaven wearing out the largemouth bass, hunting with Kenneth, and traveling the roads in heaven to visit all the amazing places in eternity, your sisters, kids, and grandkids are here taking care of everything and are fine. Save us a spot in the boat and the tree stand Dad. We all love you.
