She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey Edward and Helen Hinton Bartee of Mobile Alabama.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, William (Bill) Ewing Troutt and loving son, William (Bill) Troutt Jr. (Wendy) of Madison Alabama, and two wonderful grandchildren, Tanner and Taylor Troutt, also of Madison, Alabama.
Anna Marie attended the Mobile Alabama Public school system and was a regular volunteer Candy Striper while in high school. Upon graduation from Murphy High School, she attended Mobile College. Soon after she met and married her loving husband, Bill Troutt. Shortly after their marriage they were transferred to Gulfport, Mississippi, where she did volunteer work for the Red Cross after hurricane Camille. The couple eventually moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where Bill worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority and Anna Marie devoted herself to becoming a housewife in Powell, Tennessee and raising their son, Bill Junior. She devoted her spare time to volunteering as a fundraiser for numerous charities in both Powell and Knoxville. She was very active in the Powell PTA in addition to her other fundraising activities. She was considered a "second mom" to a lot of Bill Junior's friends. She was awarded the Powell Businessmen, "Woman of The Year Award" for her volunteer charity work and public service. After 20 years in Knoxville, Bill was transferred to TVA's Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, and the family resided in Decatur. After their son entered college, Anna Marie began working part time at Stein Mart. She became a regular at the Decatur Senior Center and enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends. She was eventually named to the board of the Senior Center. In addition to her other activities, she was always a great cook and loved making sourdough bread and taking fresh loaves of the hot bread to friends and neighbors.
Although no public services are planned, anyone wishing to honor her memory, is encouraged to send donations to the Decatur Senior Center, P.O. Box 591, Decatur, AL 35602, to help in the wonderful work they do for our seniors.
