Hammond, William R. 83 of Kettering passed away peacefully on 10/04/2014 with loved ones by his side. Bill was born in Toronto, Ontario Canada on 6/14/1931. He graduated from University of Toronto in 1953 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Bill retired from Standard Register of Dayton. He enjoyed volunteering in the Kettering YMCA swimming program and remained active in the YMCA of Dayton eventually receiving the President’s Award for Service. His lifetime passion for British Cars led to his involvement in the Dayton MG Car Club and the yearly Dayton Concours d’Elegance car show in Carillon Park. Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife Hazel and his sisters Bernice, Audrey and Fran. He is survived by his daughters Leslie Hammond-Morin, Lisa Stickevers and Jennifer Thompson, as well as 7 grandchildren and many loving Canadian relatives. A small family service will be scheduled at a future date. In lieu of flowers the family donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton or any Hospice chapter of your choosing.
