Veronica S. Phillips (aka “Susie” to family), age 70, died on October 16, 2024. She was preceded in death by her father, George Phillips of Winchester IN, mother and step father Mary Lou and Irvon Timmerman of Dayton, brother David Phillips of Indianapolis, IN, and sister Margaret Manning of Beavercreek. She attended Julienne High School (72) and the University of Dayton (76). She worked for many years as a teacher at Catholic Central Schools in Springfield and decorated cakes at Evans Bakery in Dayton. She attended Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Dayton and sang in the choir there. She was also a proud and active member of the Catholic Alumni Club.
Veronica is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Holly Timmerman of FL and their children Ashley, Samantha (Andrew) and Matthew (Jenny), her sister-in-law Sharon Phillips of Indianapolis, IN and her daughters Cathy Ann and Christina (Henry), and her brother-in-law Michael Manning of Beavercreek and his sons Andrew (Melissa) and Joseph (Alicia). She is also survived by several great and great great nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Claremont Retirement Village, DaVita Graceland, Faith & Family Supportive Care & Hospice and Options Home Services for providing excellent care and concern for Veronica during her time in Columbus.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 15th at 10:00am at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am. A Burial of the cremated remains will take place following the service at Calvary Cemetery, 1625 Calvary Dr. Dayton, OH 45409.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Veronica’s memory to Our Lady of the Rosary Church https://www.sgfp.org/online-giving would be appreciated or a donation to your favorite local animal shelter, as Veronica was quite an animal lover.
