Thomas C Phillips 83 of Kettering went to be with his Lord after a brief struggle with cancer on January 9th 2024 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born at home in the small town of Stearns Kentucky on December 7th of 1940. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents William A. Phillips and Charlene Phillips of Dayton. He is survived by his loving wife Gloria L. Phillips of Kettering; Daughter Barbara (Philip) Sowders of Fairborn; Son Kenneth (Kimberly) Phillips of Dayton; Granddaughter Ashley (Daniel) Thieman; Grandson Matthew (Staci) Sowders; Granddaughter Kayleigh Phillips; Great Grandson Grant Thieman and Great Granddaughter Ariana Thieman; along with many other beloved family and friends. Thomas was married to his high school sweetheart Gloria in Kentucky in 1959. He Graduated from Belmont High School and received an Associates in accounting from Sinclair Community College. Tom retired from General Motors in 2001 after a long career as a Plumber. He also enjoyed refinishing furniture and antiquing with his wife. They both ran a successful business together collecting and reselling them from various locations in Dayton, Waynesville and Springfield Ohio. He was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Kettering. When Thomas wasn’t spending time with his family that he loved very much he could be found watching TV or rooting for his favorite sports teams especially the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Funeral Service will be on Saturday January 20, 2024 at 10 am held at Blessed Hope Baptist Church, 3151 Annabelle Dr. Kettering, Ohio with his beloved Pastor H.C. O’Bryant and beloved friend Jerry Siler officiating. Friends may call on Friday evening January 19, 2024 from 4:30 pm to 6 pm at Blessed Hope Baptist Church.
