Sharon Louise Phillips born July 7, 1948 in Knoxville, TN passed peacefully November 11, 2024 in Miamisburg, OH. Sharon’s life followed one theme, caregiving. She was generous with all, but especially children. In addition to being an amazingly, supportive mother to three children, she guided many young lives as a playground aide, Boy/Girl Scout leader, coach and tutor. After raising her children, she returned to college and earned her RN, BSN from Sinclair Community College and Wright State University. Nursing was the perfect career to extend her passion for helping others. She started working at Miami Valley Hospital on a Medical Surgical floor, and then specialized in renal dialysis at Dialysis Center of Dayton East. In her words, DCD, offered the opportunity to “care for your patient holistically and ensure the best quality of life.” Her montra for patient care was passed to many medical staff that were fortunate to have her as a mentor and manager. Following her retirement from DDC in 2011, she was not ready to quit nursing. She secured a position at CareSource as a Telephone Triage RN guiding members to proper medical care until she retired in 2018.
Sharon’s hobbies were watching sports and supporting her loved ones in their activities. There was no distance or weather that would keep her from watching her grandchildren play soccer, cheer, dance, concerts, or receive many academic achievement awards. Mammaw was there and adamant that “her team” was the best each and every time.
She had a protective nature that extended well past her own children and grandchildren. Extended family have felt her generosity and expectations for success in life. She enjoyed helping with learning how to drive, schoolwork, celebrating good times and comforting during challenging times.
Sharon was known for loving in excess. Family pets were treated as children. Family events were small carnivals, and gifts were large. If you needed help, she was the first one there to give you everything she had to give.
Sharon was preceded in death by parents, Conway and Peggy Phillips, and nephew, Robert Phillips. She is survived by children Keith (April) Salyers, Michael (Lori) Salyers, Leslie (Bill) Bates; Grandchildren Ashley (Tim) Dillman, Lauren (Alex) Bates, Keeley Salyers, Chase Salyers; Siblings Roger (Jenny) Phillips, Mary (Marshall) Rose, Steve (Cathy) Phillips, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will occur Friday, November 22, 2024 at 1:00pm, 5471 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45429. An entombment will occur at Woodland Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Toys for Tots at https://www.toysfortots.org/support-us/donate-in-memory-or-in-honor/ as Sharon would never want a child to be without.
