Roger Artz

Roger Artz, age 97, passed away at The Courtyard at Centerville on Thursday, November 14, 2024. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Harriet Artz; step-son, Robert Zerbe; parents, Floy and Ruth (Skillings) Artz; step-mother, May Mickle Artz; sisters, Marilyn (Ron) Butschillinger, Irene Artz, Mary Artz, Susan Artz and Isabelle Hinkle; brothers, Clarence, Grant, Chester, Wesley, James, and David Artz; sisters-in-law, Lorene, Esther, Yvonne, and Nina Artz and brothers-in-law, Homer Weaver and Sam Hinkle. He is survived by his son, Jack (Nancy) Artz, daughter-in-law, Marge Zerbe; grandchildren, Karen (Michael) Allison, Kevin (Rick) Zerbe, Jennifer (Anthony) Carco, and Daniel (Hien) Artz; great-grandchildren, Brenna Allison, Matthew Allison, Amelia Carco, Eliana Carco, Isabella Carco, and Dean Artz; sisters, Helen Weaver, Phyllis (Morty) Helton, Barbara Stahly, and Evelyn (Wayne) Stauffer and brother, Phillip Artz. Roger had been a resident at The Courtyard at Centerville for 1 month. He was under the care of Care360 Hospice Service during that time. He enjoyed riding on the bike trails, exercising at the gym, and he was a ticket holder of University of Dayton men's basketball for over 60 years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A gathering of family and friends for Roger will be held Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio. Following the gathering of family and friends will be a private graveside service.

Roger will be laid to rest in New Carlisle Cemetery, New Carlisle, Ohio.
