Zimmerman, Robert L., “Bob” age 66, of Beavercreek passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, January 14, 2019, at the Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Dayton on February 3, 1952, the son of William “Mick” and Mildred K “Midge” Zimmerman, who preceded him in death. Bob was the loving husband of Sandy (Ray) Zimmerman for 47 years; the inspiring and supportive father of Amy Zimmerman and the late Scott Zimmerman. Bob was generous with his time and talents volunteering with the local Greenebucs chapter of Ambucs assembling Amtrykes and building ramps. He was an avid golfer, playing in leagues with the guys and with family and friends as often as possible, And a truly big smile was on his face when he was riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Ralene Zimmerman and Mike and Gail Zimmerman. He is survived by his father-in-law, Jimmie Ray, two sisters-in-law and their husbands and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Bob was a graduate of Belmont High School and a longtime, active member of St. Luke Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, Council #7981. Bob worked many years in the Tool and Die industry. The family will receive visitors at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road on Friday, January 18, 2019, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1440 N. Fairfield Road, Beavercreek, Ohio. Final resting place will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in memory of Bob be made to Greenebucs Chapter of Ambucs (http://www.greenebucs.org/).
