Mary E Ballard

Mary Ellen Ballard, age 103 of Dayton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur “Willie” Ballard in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Annie Mae Kreitzer; four brothers: John J., Ralph D., Ray C., and Chalmer D. Kreitzer, and a sister, Norma Jean Hall-Bowman. She is survived by two daughters: Naomi Ballard of Dayton and Janet (Daniel) Heaton of Medway. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Robyn Heaton and a sister, Miriam Overholser. Mary Ellen was a member of Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren. She loved to spend time in her kitchen and became an accomplished pie chef; her pies sold at a premium and only needed to be identified as “a Mary Ballard”. Visitation will be held at the Tobias Funeral Home Belmont Chapel on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 from 4-6 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 10 AM; interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens following the funeral on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either Prince of Peace Church of the Brethren or Hospice of Dayton in Mary's memory.
