STEINER, Martha (Moon), age 92, passed peacefully on the afternoon of Monday, August 13th, 2018. Born Martha Jewell Potts and affectionately called Granis. She was one of eight children, born September 19th, 1925 in Manchester, OH to Henry Ottis Potts and Mary Martin Potts. Martha attended Manchester High School and after graduation studied at Otterbein College in Westerville. In 1948, she married John ‘Jack’ Frederick Steiner Jr. Together they had three sons, Frederick, John, and Gerald. Martha worked as an independent tax consultant, co-owned the Blue Chip Tavern in Dayton, and co-owned the Pinehurst Lodge in Jamestown, Kentucky. In 1981, she was widowed, in 1985 she married Blake Moon, who passed away in 2008. Active in the Eastern Stars, a lifetime member of VFW Post 2800 Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Christ Church United Methodist, Martha loved being part of the community. She was an avid fisherwoman and enjoyed playing cards, quilting, knitting, crochet, making prayer shawls for children in the hospital, and working out at Silver Sneakers at the Y. She will be remembered for her quick wit, kind heart, thoughtful stories, and famous peanut brittle. Survived by sister Edna (Harold) Waldon of Ft. Myers, FL, her sister-in-law Phyllis Potts of Centerville, OH, her sons Frederick (Anna) Steiner of Philadelphia, PA, John (Sandy) Steiner of Hollidaysburg, PA, and Gerald Steiner of Centerville, OH. Her grandchildren Leslie (Nick) Andrews and their daughter Jaclyne, Jay (Chelsea) Steiner and their daughter Rosemary, Halina Steiner, Andrew (Megan) Steiner, Nicole Steiner, and many nieces and nephews.
