Maggie is also survived by her sister Frances Hassler Wilson of Pittsburgh, brother Edwin Prugh Wilson of Golden, Colorado, sister-in-law Nancy Rosamond Jones Stevens of Providence, Rhode Island, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother J. Vernon Wilson, Jr., brothers-in-law Norman Francis Jones and George “Babe” Albert Jones, and sister-in-law Martha Jones Tourtellot.
Maggie found friends of every age, everywhere she went. She was Nana to five grandsons, and loved helping them grow. Her generosity, optimism, curiosity, bright spirit, and smile lit up the lives of everyone she met.
Maggie was a graduate of Ben Avon High School, earned her bachelor’s degree in Art History from Goucher College, and completed studies in Mental Health Counseling at Sinclair Community College. She was an active member of Southminster Presbyterian Church for 50 years, participating in numerous events and activities including Ruth Circle, Elderberries, and Knitters.
She was a beloved member of Pi Beta Phi sorority (Maryland Alpha), held multiple leadership positions in the Dayton Alumni Chapter, attended National Conventions, and worked diligently to establish the University of Dayton Pi Beta Phi and its scholarship fund. She also found wonderful friends and enriching activities in her P.E.O. Chapter CH.
She dedicated years to family genealogy, researching and recording the details of generations of Prughs, Wilsons, and Joneses, and published an updated edition of Prugh history.
Her passion and talent for investing led to her active membership in NAIC (National Association of Investors Corp), including leadership positions in the local organization and attendance at numerous National Conventions.
She was a life-long traveler who explored cities, states, and countries with her family, friends, enthusiasm, and her camera. Her calendar was full of family visits, trips, group meetings, bridge club events, school functions, lunches and ice cream dates with friends, and volunteer commitments. She was a voracious reader who loved to recommend a good book, and was fascinated by the world around her. Her sewing, embroidery, crochet and knitting skills created beautiful items, including baby blankets that are in the homes of families all around the country.
She gave us all roots and wings. We are blessed by her life.
