Lowell Edward “Ed” Barker Jr., age 68, of Springfield, Ohio passed away from an unexpected illness on Thursday, May 30th 2024. He is preceded in death by his loving mother and stepfather Sarah and Joseph Kaminski; his father, Lowell Barker Sr., and his brother David “Tommy” Barker. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Barker, daughters: Maranda (Jason) Howell, and Laura (Tim) Gwin, grandchildren: Hunter, Makenna, Kendra, Bristol, and Blair, beloved brother to Mark (Jessica) Barker and Karen Creed, and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Ed retired from Navistar and spent his free time researching cars, doing carpentry, and gambling. He enjoyed the French Lick Casino and could be found playing the slot machines. When he wasn’t at the casino, you could find him listening to music or watching history documentaries. Ed knew something about everything and could always find some sort of fact to add to discussions. He was always learning something new and you could count on him to answer any of your questions.
Above all, Ed was a great role model to his family and loved ones. He was a hard worker in everything he did and spent so much of his life supporting his family in all of their endeavors. Ed will truly be missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, June 16th, from 11:00am – 3:00pm at 8756 Old Columbus Rd, South Vienna OH, 45369
