Joyce Emilie Mervar

Mervar, Joyce, age 84, of Kettering passed away on August 4th, 2018. She was born May 9th, 1934 in Cleveland, the daughter of Melvin and Emilie Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Raymond Mervar. She is survived by her daughter Leslie (Dave) Ashcraft, son Bob (Alex) Mervar, daughter Lori (Erik) Amundson, six grandchildren, Lauren, Dan (Abby), Joe, Rachel, Aiden and Jade. Joyce attended Bowling Green University. She was a homemaker, enjoyed cooking and a good laugh. She had a fondness for sports, cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals and Ohio State football. After the passing of her husband, Joyce spent many happy years at Brookdale (Grandcourt) of Kettering where she made numerous dear friends. The family would like to thank the nurses, and staff at Hospice of Dayton for the excellent care they provided in Joyce's final days. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12th at Tobias Funeral Home - Far Hills Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
