John (Jay) Louis Finnegan. 43, passed away on February 13, 2023 at home. He has been received in the loving arms of God and members of his family. Jay was born in 1980 at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois to his surviving parents John (stepmother Mary) Finnegan and Lynn Wollermann.
Even though Jay completed his GED in lieu of high school. His first passion was the culinary arts and worked his way up to chef. Jay was a prolific artist, musician and published author of short stories and poems. He was a great uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He would not hesitate to bring himself down to their level to play and read to them. He pursued a great love for literature, indulging a vast variety of genres
Jay is preceded by his maternal grandparents Louis Albert and Exia Joanne Wollermann, his uncle Eric Wollermann, and parental grandparents John Joseph and Mary Agnes Finnegan. He is survived by his sister Brandi Fedkow and husband Jason Fedkow, his brother Ryan Finnegan and wife Maddie Finnegan, stepsister Suzanne and husband Alan Nandrasay, and stepbrother Douglas and wife Catherine Mangas. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews; Chase, Chanler and Chalsie Fedkow, Teaghan and Cullen Finnegan, Neva and Francis Nandrasay, Anthony, Simon, and Rebecca Mangas.
A memorial visitation for Jay will be held Friday, February 24, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
Those wishing to remember Jay in a special way may make donations to Eastway Behavioral Healthcare, 600 Wayne Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45410 in lieu of flowers.
