SHAFFER, Jackie Marvin, Jr. age 53 of Riverside entered into eternal rest on August 10, 2017. He was born on April 5, 1964 at Tripler Army Hospital, Honolulu, Hawaii, to Jack and Mary (Ralston) Shaffer. Jack was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Louise Shaffer, and Pete and Kathryn Ralston of Stout, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Jack is survived by his daughter, Lindsey who was his whole world and his step-daughter, Amanda who he was very proud of; sister, Debbie (Bill) Shaffer-Lancaster; nephews, Ryan and Eric Stumpff; great-nieces, Arya, Phedre, and Rowan, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jack was a 1982 graduate of Stebbins High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Wright State University and his master’s degree from the University of Dayton. He enjoyed music, traveling, rehabbing houses, sports, and his favorite Football team the Oakland Raiders! Jack was a kind-hearted, fun loving and loyal friend. His caring nature endeared him to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 5-8PM at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Don Shurts officiating. Burial will follow in Byron Cemetery in Fairborn.
