Ethel Kurtz

KURTZ, Ethel M., age 89 of Beavercreek Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Bethany Village. She was born on March 12, 1923, in Butler County, Morgan Township, Ohio, the daughter of Walter and Josephine (Lechauer) Raum. She graduated from Riley High School and married her husband of 67 years Clarence Kurtz, on April 29, 1941. She resided in Hamilton, Ohio until August 2006 when she moved to Beavercreek, Ohio where she was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and the Beavercreek Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her husband in November 2008, her brother Paul Raum in November 2006, and a great grandchild (Brady Zgonina) in October 2011. Ethel leaves her sons and daughters-in-law, Art and Sylvia Kurtz of Hilton Head, SC and Don and Sherry Kurtz of Beavercreek, OH; six grandchildren: Tom (Lorie) Kurtz, Pam Zeigler, Karen (Chris) Stevenson, Julie (Joe) Zgonina, Kristina (Bryan) Tschanz, and Kevin Kurtz; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday morning April 18, 2012 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday April 18, 2012, 10:30 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1440 N. Fairfield Road, Beavercreek. A brief committal ceremony will follow at 2:00 PM at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, 1314 Greenwood Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
