PARSONS, Estel R. age 83, passed away 12/29/2021 at the Village of the Greene. He was born in Old Town, Kentucky (Greenup County) on 06/11/1938 to parents Elmer and Victory (Lorraine) Parsons who preceded him in death. He was married to LaVonne K (Stump) Parsons for 36 years and who preceded him in death as well as a brother, Larry (Geneva) Parsons.
He is survived by his children; Cheryl (Mark) Wheeler, Robert (Sherry) Parsons, Gary Parsons, Greg (Karla) Parsons, and Jeff (Carol) Parsons; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; brothers Phil (Gale) Parsons, Richard (Linda) Parsons, and Doug (J.J.) Parsons; and his companion of 27 years Marianne Brown; and numerous cousins, friends and extensive family.
He graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1956. Estel was a Dayton Police Officer for 7 years and a retired Captain of the Dayton Fire Department where he served for 22 years. He enjoyed golf, hunting, mushroom hunting, playing basketball and tennis, a card player and gardener. He loved spending time with family and friends at cookouts.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 6, 2022 for a Visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at the Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Burial will be at Dayton Memorial Park following the Funeral Service. Pastor Jason Bunger from Hope United Methodist Church will be officiating the service.
In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to either Hospice of Dayton or The Parkinson’s Foundation.
