Kettering, Ohio. She was born September 22, 1922 in Greeneville, Tennessee. She moved to Dayton when she was
five years old and has spent most of her life and raised her family of five children. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1942. Elsie was a member of Order of Eastern Star Beaver Valley Chapter 570 for over 50 years and
was also Past Worthy Matron. She was also Past Counselor of Patterson Council #36 Daughters of America. Elsie had worked numerous jobs in her lifetme but the one job she enjoyed the most was working for the
Golden Nugget Pancake House where she retired after sixteen years of employment. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, John Freshour, Grace Banks Dubaugh and John Dubaugh, as well as brothers, Ellis and John Freshour, sisters Harriet Freshour, Alice Hubbard and June Stafford. She is survived by a sister, Barbara (Grant) Johnson of Centerville, Ohio. Elsie is also survived by her children and their spouses, David (Carol) Sanders of Kettering, Richard (Marla) Sanders of Centerville, Lorraine (Rick) Phillips of Mason, Ohio, Deborah (Paul) Kotomski of Parish, Florida, and Roberta Stratton of Three Forks, Montana. Elsie has 10 grandchildren: Jon (Shannon) Sanders, Jeff (Kirsten) Sanders, James (Alicia) Sanders, Matthew Sanders, Mark (Lilly) Sanders, Stephanie Sanders, Nicole (Nels) Nelson, Jennifer (Chris) Cohen, Dustin (Daneena) Stratton and Jesse Stratton. She has 15 great-grandchildren: Conner Sanders, Lauren Sanders, Kylie Sanders, Olivia Sanders, Emmalyn Sanders, Liam Sanders, Hanna Sanders, Cory Sanders, Connor Sanders, Gavin Sanders, Carter Weatherhead, Avey Weatherhead, Skylar Nelson, Ryder Nelson and Sienna Cohen. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and her very best friend Alex. Elsie enjoyed her life, loved her family and friends more than anything. Her laughter and love will be missed. She was a much loved mother and grandmother. There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends, Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME FAR HILLS CHAPEL AT RAHN ROAD FROM 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Elsie's life will be Friday morning, September 21, 2012 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. REMEMBER ME, Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles. I've only gone to rest a little while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief. So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am now, but as I used to be. Because I will remember you all and look on with a smile. understand in your hearts, I've only gone to rest a little while.
