Doug attended Incarnation School and went on to graduate from Centerville High School in 1977 and from the University of Kentucky in 1981. Doug graduated from Rollins College, Crummer Graduate School of Business in 1992. He had numerous certifications and designations. Doug retired in 2019 after a long career in finance. He had a passion for sports, a love for cooking, traveling, tennis, cycling, and spending time with his family. Doug had the ability to make people laugh, always shared his knowledge, and was loved by many.
Doug is survived by his wife, Pamela; stepson Chris (Kate) Barks, grandchildren Hazel and Pearl: his parents, Vernon and Elaine McEldowney; sisters, Sondra (Jerry) Quinn and Lora (Daniel) Eckle; nephew, Jared (Casey) Quinn; nieces, Megan Quinn, Allison Quinn, Mackenzie Eckle, and Meredith Eckle; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Doug’s life will take place on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Tobias Funeral Home, located at 5471 Far Hills Avenue at Rahn Road in Dayton, Ohio 45429. Masks are required. The visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Immediately following, Father Patrick Sloneker will officiate a memorial service in the chapel.
