Logan, Clyde P., age 76, of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Spring Creek. He was born May 19, 1935 in Upper Tygart, Ky to Clyde Logan and Nano Glover who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his two daughters, Lisa Grooms and Brenda Logan, two sisters-in-law, Maudie Shepard and Alma Purvis and two brothers-in-law, Johnnie and Jay Purvis. Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Gladys M. (Purvis) Logan; sister, Pat Talkington; two grandchildren, Michael “Poodle Pat” Grooms and Ceara “Little One” Grooms; son-in-law, Mike Grooms; nieces and nephews, Jan (John) Mildren, Dale, Craig and Jeff Shepard and Kathy Cochrane; great nephews Matthew D. Mildren, Jason (Jenn) Mildren and their son Westin; sisters-in-law, Mabel Crouch, Louise Purvis and Dottie Purvis; brother-in-law Eugene Purvis and his cousin, Ina Mae Suttles and her son, Phillip. He was retired from Metallurgical Heat Treating after 46 ½ years of service and was an avid flea marketer. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Rev. Jim Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Spring Creek especially, Jim, Sherry and Kathy and to his very special friends, Bonnie Logan and Bob Archer for their love and care of Clyde during his illness.
