NEIDIGH, Christian Dale Jr., SMSgt USAF Ret., age 58 of Beavercreek, OH, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Dale was born in Lancaster, PA and was raised in Mount Joy, PA by the late, Christian Dale Sr. and Edna Ruth Neidigh. Dale is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carol A. Landis Neidigh of Beavercreek, OH; daughter, Jessica Lynn Neidigh of Dayton, OH and son, Andrew Christian Neidigh of Miamisburg, OH. In addition his sisters, Evonne Neidigh Hanson and her husband John Hanson of Erie, PA, Donna Neidigh Hershey and her husband Scott Hershey of Elizabethtown, PA; niece, Laura C. Hershey; nephew, Scott A. Hershey; uncles, Charles Neidigh and David Neidigh of Elizabethtown, PA, and numerous cousins. Although he had no grandchildren, he very much enjoyed his grand-puppies. Dale graduated from; Donegal High School in 1972, Electronics Institute of Harrisburg, PA in 1974, Embry-Riddle in 1983, and received his MBA from Golden Gate University in April of 1988. He was enlisted in the United States Air Force from March 28, 1978 until he retired on June 30, 2005. During his service he received the following awards, ribbons, and medals, Air Force Commendation Medal with 2 devices, Air Force Achievement Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 devices, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon with 2 devices, Humanitarian Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award with 5 devices, National Defense Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with device, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Armed Forces Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with device, Air Force Training Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon with device, NATO Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award with device, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 2 devices, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 8 devices, Korean Defense Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism. After his military service, he continued to support the USAF by working for the Syracuse Research Company. Dale was a PUFL of the New Carlisle American Legion, Post 286, and a lifetime member of the NRA. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. His family will be organizing a motorcycle ride in his memory, with Dale in his sidecar. Memorial services will be held in Lancaster, PA at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Legion, or to the Disabled American Veterans Organization.
