Carl L. James

JAMES, Carl L., died on October 31, 2012. He was a lifelong Christian, a believer in the life everlasting and a 41 year member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church. Carl was born on Aug. 12, 1917 in Middletown, Ohio to Carl and Frances James. He graduated from Middletown High School, attended The Ohio State University, and graduated from the University of Dayton with a bachelor of mechanical engineering degree. He was preceded in death by his parents, his dearly beloved wife, Leatha (Hefflin) James; a son, John Douglas James and both his daughters, Carla Lee James and Carol Lynn Davis; and three brothers, Ralph (Eddie) James and twin brothers, Walter and Wendell; and a sister, Eileen Price. Also preceded in death by sisters in law, Jewell James and Dorothy Brown and a niece, Peggy Ferrell. He is survived by a brother, Jerry L. James; and sisters in law, Billye James and Helen Hefflin; two grandsons, Matthew G. Davis and Clinton J. Davis; nieces, Mary Hall, Lynda Routley, Susan Thomas. Judy Cizio, Sue Proffitt, Deana and Tara Hefflin; nephews, Ron Brown, Mark James, Michael James, Delmar Hall, Scott Hefflin and Tim Hefflin. Carl was the president and owner of Leonard Supplies, an Ohio corporation since 1953. He was a long time member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers, the Dayton Society of Professional Engineers and the Engineer Club of Dayton. Carl was a lifetime athlete - playing football, basketball, tennis, fast-pitch softball, golf and bowling. Along the way, he made many friends, most of who are deceased. David Hoffelt officiating. Interment Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Ohio.
