Brenda "Big B" Sue May

Brenda Sue May (Big B) of Oakwood, OH passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 13th, 2021 at the age of 72. Brenda was born in Vicco, KY and spent most of her childhood in Dayton, OH. She is survived by her loving and devoted parents, HH and Geneva Amburgey, and her younger brother, David Amburgey. She is also survived by her former husband, Don May, and their 3 daughters: Jenna (Todd) Beeson, Julie (Bill) Rucker, and Jill (John) Basom. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Smith and Brooks Beeson, Jake and Kelsey Rucker, and Maggie, Charlie, and Andy Basom.

Throughout her career as a Registered Nurse, she had the opportunity to help and serve others in various capacities, with her true passion being her work with children and adolescents.

Her greatest achievement, though, was her role as Gigi, the grandmother who never ran out of hugs, kisses, or popsicles. Her family was her world and she never missed an opportunity to express that love in creative and thoughtful ways. She made everything more beautiful.

When she wasn't busy spoiling her grandkids or putting a bow on everything, you'd likely find her out and about with any one of her life long friends.

Her family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to her friends, family and the Oakwood community for all of the love and support. In addition, the kindness, compassion and guidance from the care team at Miami Valley Hospital will never be forgotten.

The family would like to invite those who would like to pay their respects to a visitation at Tobias Funeral Home - Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, OH on Thursday, August 19th from 4:00 to 7:00pm. A service will be held at Holy Angels Church, Dayton, OH on Friday, August 20th at 10:00am with a burial to follow.
