Barbara Lee Webb

Born on July 3, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio, Barbara was the daughter of Mildred (Mickie) and Charles P. Evans. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Webb Sr., mother, father, stepfather, Bee Hall, sister, Sharon Kay Evans, brother, Albert Hatfield Jr., and an infant son and an infant daughter.

Barbara is survived by her three loving children: Jerry Webb Jr. and his wife Cindy of The Villages, FL; Becky (Webb) Leonard and her husband Bill Finley of Murrell’s Inlet, SC; and Laurie (Webb) Foster and her husband Robert of Charlotte, NC, her six adoring grandchildren: Kristen, Kelly, Josh, Peter, Luke, and Ethan, four great-grandchildren: Caleb, Cambria, Sayler, and Luca, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Barbara was the family’s historian, tracing their roots long before the digital age made genealogy a widespread hobby. As the eldest cousin, she was the keeper of countless stories and memories, preserving the family’s history with a unique love and attention to detail.

Throughout her life, she was surrounded by a close-knit circle of friends and family, enjoying summers by the pool or gathered around a card table. Barbara had a passion for crafts and, later in life, took up painting. Animals held a special place in her heart, and she was deeply devoted to her pets and those of her family. Above all, Barbara was a natural caregiver, always ready to lend a hand whenever a family member was in need.

Barbara’s greatest joy in life, however, was her six grandchildren. She was there for each of them from the start, watching them grow, supporting them in their schooling, sports, and other endeavors, and taking immense pride in their accomplishments. Nothing made Barbara prouder than talking about her grandchildren.

In her final years, Barbara moved to the Carolinas to be closer to her children, where she created many fond memories in her home in Murrell’s Inlet, SC, and later in Charlotte, NC, where she made new friends and cherished time with family.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A viewing will be held at Tobias Funeral Home—Far Hills Chapel on November 18, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Afterward a graveside service will take place at Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery, with a reception to celebrate Barbara’s life to follow. Directions to the reception will be provided at the service.
