Barbara Ann Mercer

Barbara Ann Mercer, age 80, of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Trinity in Fairborn, Ohio. Barbara was born November 1, 1941 in Fairborn, Ohio to parents Eugene and Frances (Bredon) Crummie who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Richard Lee Mercer.

Barbara is survived by her daughters Heather Mercer of Urbana, Ohio and Robyn (David) Rose of New Vienna, Ohio; grandchild Gavin Rose; sisters, Sharon (Terry) Burkert of Fairborn, Ohio and Rhonda (Dave) Tobergte of Florence, Kentucky.

Growing up, Barbara enjoyed spending time at her grandparent’s farm in Adams County, Ohio. She shared many memories of playing with her cousins and driving her grandfather’s Ford tractor. Barbara married Richard Mercer on May 7, 1966. Barbara worked as a secretary at Wright Patt. from 1959 – 1969 and then became a homemaker after the birth of her children.

Barbara enjoyed gardening, the fellowship of Fairborn United Methodist Church, but found her greatest joy in her family. She became a proud nana in 2011 and she would say that was her greatest accomplishment. She was simply the best wife, mom, nana, and sister and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, 09/29/2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at The Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Following at 11:00 AM will be a Funeral Service with Pastor Steve Stiglich officiating. Entombment at Byron Mausoleum will follow the Funeral Service.
