LACON, Barbara Jean (Myers), a resident of St. Leonard's (formerly of Beavercreek) passed away Monday, April 4, 2016, just three days after her 85th birthday. Barbara was born on April 1, 1931 to Nelson Sparks and Mildred Lucille (Barnes) Myers . She grew up on a farm, the oldest of five children. Shortly after graduating from Beavercreek High School, she went to work for Borden’s Dairy where she met the love of her life. She was married for 62 years to Anthony Lacon, who preceded her in death. Together they raised four children, Anthony M. and wife, Donna of Centerville; Gregory, recently deceased and wife, Carol of Ft Worth, TX; Jeffery and wife Venetia of Xenia; and Teresa of Miamisburg. She is survived by 10 grandchildren, Brian (Katherine), Melissa (James), Jacob (Amanda), Jarrett (Chelsea), Jessica (fiancé Nathan), Andrew, Tyler, Quentin, Victoria, and Angelica and 7 great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Isabel, Austin, Julia, Emma, Dominic, and Henry. Barbara enjoyed being a homemaker and especially delighted in her grandchildren. An accomplished cook, her chicken-n-dumplings and homemade pies will be missed. She was an active gardener, and enjoyed nature and wildlife. She will be remembered for her sewing talent and we will cherish the quilts and needlepoint pieces she made. Over her lifetime, she enjoyed extensive travel with Tony. Barb was a faithful and active member of the Catholic Church. Also survived by brothers, William Myers and wife, Linda and Dennis Myers and wife, Anna; brother-in-law, George Rawlins. Preceded in death by sister, Marion Rawlins and brother, Harvey Myers and wife, Louise.
