Michael Scott Scheibner passed away on December 8th, at his home in Lincoln, WA, with his son Andrew and his wife, Eileen, at his side. Scott battled a rare form of liver cancer and fought it diligently for 20 months.
Michael, known as Scott or Scotty by most, was born May 8th, 1954 in Odessa, WA to Ned and Helen Scheibner (Bruce). He grew up on the family farm outside of Wilbur and attended Wilbur school through graduation in 1972. He was very active in sports with judo being his favorite, where he was a black belt and an instructor.
After graduation, Scott continued to help with the family farm, while attending college at Spokane Falls Community College and Eastern Washington University. He graduated with a teaching degree.
During college, he met and married Dana Gabriel. They had one child, Andrew Scheibner. Scott and Dana moved to California for work and he soon became a Deputy Sheriff for Alameda County.
Scott was a firearms instructor for the sheriff's department, he worked in the court system for Alameda County, and finished out his career in law enforcement working in the jails in Alameda County.
Scott retired from law enforcement and soon became divorced from Dana.
In 2012, Scott moved back to Washington and began building on his property on Lake Roosevelt. In 2016, Scott and Eileen (Finch) Scheibner started dating. They married in 2018 and resided at their place in Lincoln.
Scott enjoyed watching westerns and sports, fishing with his friends and family, working on his classic cars, and enjoyed the company of his Schnauzers.
Scott is survived by his wife Eileen, son Andrew Scheibner of Castro Valley, CA, mother Helen Bruce of Davenport, WA and brother Thomas Scheibner of Tracy, CA. He also has several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Ned Scheibner, and his sister, Nancy Prince (Scheibner).
Memorial Services will be held Friday, December 16th, 2022, at 11:00 am, at Strate Funeral Home in Davenport. A private memorial will be held in the Spring at his property in Lincoln.
