Passed away on May 28, 2024 after a short illness in Spokane, WA. Jim was born on November 1, 1932 in Chewelah, WA. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and graduated from Jenkins High School. After high school, he joined the US Air Force and was discharged in 1956. On August 23, 1958 Jim married Judith Snyder in Chewelah, WA. He was an electrician for many years with Newmont (Dawn) Mining Co. and later worked for Edwall Chemical. Jim served in the Korean War and was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Reardan. Jim and Judy lived in Chewelah, Ford and Elko, Nevada before settling in Reardan in 1969. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed going hunting with his boys. Jim was active within the community, serving on the city council and as a volunteer fireman. He and Judy loved sitting in their beautiful backyard visiting with family and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife of 66 years Judy at their home in Reardan, four children Terry (Jennifer) Hentges, Cindy (Roger) Hall, Don (Melinda) Hentges and John Hentges (Lori Krivoshein) along with seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, four cousins, several extended family members and friends. A memorial mass will be held in Reardan on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 455 W. Cottonwood St. Reardan, WA.. Memorials may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church (PO Box 451, Reardan 99029) or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
