Ronald Joel Clouse, 74, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at his home. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 12 noon at The Runge Mortuary. There is no visitation. Cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Midwest Pets for Life in Clinton, Iowa. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com. He was born September 28, 1941 in Council Bluffs, IA; the son of Pete and Thelma (Bolton) Clouse. At the age of 23, he joined the U.S. Army and spent 20 years in active duty service, which included two Vietnam tours. The day after his retirement, Ron began his 20 years of service in a civilian capacity with the U.S. Army. The majority of his 40 years of service was spent in Germany. Upon his retirement, he returned to Davenport and spent just short of ten years volunteering for the Davenport Police Department in the VIPS program. Ron was a loving, caring, witty and lighthearted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend as well as a proud soldier. He didn’t win his final battle but he fought it with courage and was a soldier to the end. He loved all soldiers, he loved the friends he made and the camaraderie they shared. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Toni; son, Roy (Catherine) Clouse, London, England; son, Craig (Tara) Clouse, Austin, TX; daughter, Libby (Mark) Lystiuk, Davenport; daughter, Lisa (Roy) Lane, Rockford, IL; grandchildren: Tabitha Clouse, Daisy Clouse, Josey Clouse, Coco Clouse, Joseph Abate and Aaron Meier; brothers, Gordon (Karen) Clouse, Rob (Mary) Clouse and Darryl Clouse; ten nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Max and granddog, Bear. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Vernon and sisters, Maycle Baldwin and Carole Cox.
