Friends and family are invited to join us at Gunchies after the visitation for a celebration of his life and friendship.
Rod was born July 25th, 1969 to parents Sterling and Trudy Adams. Rod spent his childhood as a "Westender" and graduated from West High School as a standout athlete in baseball and football.
Rod was a lifelong, diehard Raiders fan and lived for football season each year. He loved his Fantasy Football, watching football and drinking cold beers with his friends. His love of football was only surpassed by the love he had for his daughter, his best days were spent cheering her on as he watched her play softball.
If you were blessed to know Rod, you know he didn't suffer fools. Once you were in his circle of friends, you were his family. There has never been a more loyal, trustworthy man to walk this earth. He was dedicated to his friends, family and work. He recently achieved his 30 year anniversary at Nichols Aluminum in Davenport. His unexpected passing has left a giant hole in our lives.
Rod is survived by his cherished daughter, Jaci Jo Adams and her mother Anna Adams of Dubuque; father Sterling Adams of Tennessee; his Aunt Treva Rosenthal of Rock Island; many nieces; a nephew; and his four-legged buddy Zeus. He also leaves behind a close circle of lifelong friends who knew that behind that tough exterior was a big teddy bear with a heart of gold.
Rod was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Trudy Oliver and his brother Todd Adams.
We invite you to come dressed in your finest NFL or sports team apparel. Memorials will be used to help find his buddy Zeus a furever home and put into a trust for his daughter.
