Robert Joseph York

A celebration of Life will be held 10:00am Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory Davenport. Interment will be at the National Cemetery Rock Island, IL. A Luncheon will be held at Cedar Street Tap in Davenport following the interment. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church Davenport, IA. Robert was born February 17, 1938 to Melvin and Catherine “Edna” (Herber) York in Davenport, IA. He served proudly in the U.S. Army and had done Home Improvement work his entire life until his retirement.

He was an avid Cincinnati Reds & Bengals fan and supported the Iowa Hawkeyes. Poker was favorite past time having played in neighborhood games and other events.

Survivors include 3 daughters Fallon Sisco Andalusia, IL, Cathy Rockwell, Sunrise, FL, Jody Cook, Hot Springs Village, AR; Son Joseph York, Davenport, IA; 10 Grandchildren Caitlyn, Madelynn, Haley, Carter, Jed, Jake, Jamine, Amber, Blaze, & Sheyenne; Numerous Great Grandchildren; 3 Brothers Pat, Gary & Paul York Davenport; Sisters Pam Jones LeClaire, IA, Marsha York, Cedar Rapids, IA, Judy Fleetwood Davenport, IA, Connie Welk, Davenport, IA.

Preceded in death by a son James York; daughter Debbie Wessles; Grandchildren Levi Hamilton & Nathan Sisco; and brothers Jerry & Melvin “Snooks” York; sisters Donna Walton, Vivian Washam, Darlene Finch, Shirley Ballinger & Jackie Riley.
