Robert “Bob” Dale Thompson, 57, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in Davenport, from injuries he sustained. Per the family’s request, cremation rites will be accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Bob was born April 27, 1958 in Germany; the adopted son of the late William “Bill” and Mary Thompson of Bettendorf. They resided in Bettendorf where Bob attended school through his high school years. His parents raised him in the knowledge of the Catholic faith, which allowed him to live one day at a time.
He was a gentle soul that had a cheerful, upbeat personality, a distinctive uniqueness that allowed him to socialize and converse with people easily. He liked sports; especially following the Iowa Hawkeyes, enjoyed most genres of music, playing cards, dancing, playing pool and darts.
He is survived by his daughter, Lauren R. Gillispie-Walker, Davenport and his adopted siblings from the Quad City area. He was preceded in death by his adopted parents, William (2010) and Mary Virginia May Thompson (1982); his adopted grandparents and an aunt.
