Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be held between 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Dick’s name to the Faith Lutheran Church, Eldridge Volunteer Fire Department, or the charity of your choice. Dick was born the son of Alvin and Bernice (Peters) Puls on November 3, 1935. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sally Wiese, on September 12, 1959 in Davenport, IA.
He worked for Torrance Electric for 14 years, Caterpillar for 15 years, and retired from Genesis Systems in 1999. He was a hard worker and a perfectionist. He enjoyed taking care of his cars, house, and yard. He loved dancing with his wife, watching NASCAR, listening to country music, telling jokes, and talking to people.
Those missing him dearly include, his loving wife of 60 years, Sally, “my gal Sal”; children, Sue (John) Strazewski, Steve (Georgia) Puls, Tim (Kim) Puls, and Tami Rowley; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Linda (Jerry) Wilson; one nephew and one niece.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and stepfather, Edwin Johannsen.
