Rebecca Brown

Rebecca Brown, 85, of Davenport, Iowa passed away Friday, November 15, 2024 at her home surrounded by her beloved family. Per her request cremation rites have been accorded and private family services have been held.

Rebecca was born on November 23, 1938 to Agnes William Tolbert and Robert Polk in Mississippi. She married MC Brown and he preceded her in death. Rebecca was a family woman through and through; she loved to spend time with her family and helped raise some of her beloved grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her excellent cooking. Rebecca loved to help anyone in need; volunteering in the community and helping neighbors and friends with whatever they needed from a warm meal, place to stay, or a ride to an appointment.

Her memory will be cherished by her children Willie Clay, Vivian Olden, Robert Starks, Carrie McAfee, Allen Brown, Michael Starks, Mary Starks, and Teresa Brown; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; her beloved sisters; and two brothers.

She was preceded in death by her husband MC; her parents; and several brothers and sisters.
