Ray Leroy Kimble, 83, of DeWitt, passed away, Wednesday, December 18, 2013 in DeWitt. Per his request, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the DeWitt Noon Lion’s Club. Ray was born March 15, 1930 in Hammond, IN, the son of Roy L. and Reba (Ulitich) Kimble. He graduated from Stockland High School in Stockland, IL. He served in the Army, graduating from West Point with an honorable discharge. He earned the National Defense Medal while serving his country.
He worked for Caterpillar Tractor for thirty-three years, where he retired from as a superintendent. Ray earned an Associate’s Degree from Aurora University in Aurora, IL. Ray was a member of the DeWitt Noon Lion’s Club, the DeWitt Fitness Center, the Free Mason and Shriners and the NRA.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Arlene; son, Phillip (Cynthia) Kimble; daughters, Diane (Curtis) Hartmann, Karen Powell, Kim Miller and Nicole and Shannon Kimble; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
