Michael Shawn Wickham

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Metropolitan Community Church of the Quad Cities-2930 W. Locust Street Davenport, IA. The family invites friends to come help celebrate Mike’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mike’s name to a local animal shelter/rescue.

Mike was born in Muncie, IN on June 18, 1964 to Ted and Jan (Alexander) Wickham. He was a 1982 Assumption High School graduate and went on to attend Sharon Duran Hair Academy. He was a cosmetologist for roughly 15 years.

Mike was an excellent cook. He was blessed with a beautiful tenor voice and a very loving soul. He was very dependable and always had a smile on his face. One thing that Mike was especially proud of was participating in Iowa/Illinois panel of the traveling AIDS quilt. He and his friends spent over 2 months designing and quilting their panel. Mike had a way about him that drew people close to him. He had a very comforting nature.

Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Paul (Lisa) Wickham; sister, Marge (William) Gast; nephews, Nickolas Peterschmidt, Tony Wickham and Caelan Gast; nieces, Elora (Richard) Kirby and Moira Gast; and his fur-baby, Gracie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and second mom, Marvella Mentria.
