Mary E. Hodge

Visitation will be Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11 am at the Davenport Church of the Nazarene, 1010 N. Clark Street, followed by a funeral service at 12 pm at the church. Her final resting place will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may go to the family. Online condolences may be left at rungemortuary.com.

Mary was born October 22, 1932 in Ottumwa, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Minnie (Shryock) Dietrich. She married Arthur Jewell Hodge in March, 1948 in Iowa City. He died in October 2005.

She worked for Peterson Von Maur for 17 years starting in the candy department and retired after 17 years of service. She loved quilting, sewing, flower gardening feeding the wildlife but most of all, spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Belinda Morley, Davenport, Daniel (Chris) Hodge, FL, Mark (Connie) Hodge, Missouri and John Hodge, Davenport; siblings: Robert Dietrich, Chuck Dietrich and Linda Montgomery; ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Joyce, son, Aaron, and nine siblings.
