Mary C. Brunning

Funeral services will be held 2:30PM Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be from 12 noon till 2:30PM on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Mary was born October 26, 1921 in rural Donahue, IA to Julius & Lavina (DeWalle) Fore. She was united in marriage to Marvin Brunning on August 24, 1946 in Nashua, IA. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2010.

Mary was a past member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Davenport and was active in the Belgian Cultural Center. She loved her chocolate, bowling, watching and feeding the birds, dancing a Polka or Waltz, and even participated for several years in the Bix run/walk. Mary also enjoyed traveling. She and Marvin had made many trips and earlier in life the family trips made great memories for everyone to enjoy. Her love for her family was strong especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include daughter Deb (John) Wheeler, Davenport; son Dennis (Cathy) Brunning and family, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Jen & Doug Beasley, Davenport, Ryan & Karen Wheeler, Eldridge, IA; great grandchildren Cade, Maya, Ashton, Nolan, & Ben.

She was preceded in death her parents, her husband, infant son Dean, grandson Brent, and a brother LeRoy Fore.
