Marlene Ann Dawson

Marlene Dawson, 84, of Rock Island, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. Funeral services will be Monday, August 29, 2016, 10 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, Trinity Lutheran Church or the Humane Society of Scott County. Marlene Reinke was born May 14, 1932 in Clinton, IA to Lydia and Walter Reinke. She was united in marriage to Fred Dawson on October 6, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport. He preceded her in death on July 24, 1990.

After 18 years of dedicated service, Marlene retired from Petersen Plumbing in December 2005. Marlene dearly loved her children, granddaughter Mallory, and her dog, Sam. She enjoyed the beauty of nature, music, flower gardening and vacation jaunts with her children.

Survivors are her daughter Kathy Dawson, Rock Island; son John Dawson, his wife Missy, and granddaughter, Mallory, East Moline; sisters Phyllis Bartscher and Lois Reinke, Davenport. Extended family includes special niece Sue Schocker and her husband Gary.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Jane Faulkner.
