Funeral services for Lila M. Kuehl, 88, of Davenport will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary chapel in Davenport. Family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the mortuary. Private family burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Davenport. Mrs. Kuehl passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport. Lila Maxine Trumpold was born on June 9, 1924 in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of William and Pauline (Baumgartner) Trumpold. On July 16, 1949, she married Werner “Benny” Kuehl in Davenport. Together they farmed in Scott County and later retired in Davenport. After 52 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on August 5, 2001. Lila was an active volunteer throughout the years. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with the children at Monroe School, as well as her various committees, activities, and card playing at Ridgecrest Village. She was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Davenport. Lila dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her three Daughters: Col. Susan Kuehl of Davenport, Anne Kuehl of Davenport, Sally (Don) Hackett of LeClaire, IA; her Son: Stephen Kuehl of Davenport; a Brother: Franz Biehl of White Rock, NM; 3 Grandchildren: Ronald (Lorrie) Willems of Aurora, IL, Lori (Don) Smith of West Chicago, IL, Kelly (Chad) Firsching of Davenport; and 6 Great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Callie Willems, Jack, Holly, and Tyler Smith, Russell Firsching. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her Step-father: August Biehl. Memorials may be directed to the Konig Charitable Fund at Ridgecrest Village.
