John C. Babb, 74, of Davenport, Iowa passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Genesis East surrounded by his wife, family and friends. Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm Thursday, September 19, 2019 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the mortuary. John was born December 14, 1944 in Rock Island to John and Mary (McDonald) Babb. July 6, 1966 John exchanged wedding vows with Helen Horlas. Together they enjoyed fifty-seven years. John was a hardworking, fun loving, family man. After forty-two years of service John retired from the Blackhawk Foundry where he was the shipping manager.
John enjoyed camping, fishing, farming, playing euchre and bowling in his younger years. He loved to watch news and read the newspaper.
Those left honoring his memory include his loving wife, Helen; son, John Babb; daughter, JoAnn (Babb) Williams; grandchildren: Samantha (Martin Gallagher) Bridges, Abbey Bridges, Christopher Bridges and Erin Babb.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by father-in-law, mother-in-law and his baby girl, Janet Babb.
