A gathering of friends and family will be held at 12:30pm on Thursday, October 24th at the Runge Mortuary, followed by a memorial service at 2pm in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal with full military honors, where he will be laid to rest.
James was born on August 29, 1953 in Davenport, IA, the son of Adolph and Lillian (Brezina) Lund. On July 25, 2009. He was united in marriage to Deborah Hoffmann in Davenport, IA. He became a Sargent in the Marine Corps after high school. He worked for 30 years in maintenance and housekeeping at St. Ambrose University.
Jimmy enjoyed riding his motorcycle, listening to country music, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and attending Faith United Methodist Church in Davenport.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 15 years, Deborah Lund; bothers, Joe, Jerry, and Jeff; step-son, Rodney; step-son, Joe; step-daughter, Michelle; and grandchildren, Noah and Nora.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John.
