Irene Doris Thompson

Irene Doris Thompson, 82, of Bettendorf, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Scott Count Humane Society. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com. She was born on February 21, 1933 in Fall River, Massachusetts, the daughter of Edger and Amanda (Guimonb) Frenette. Irene was united in marriage to Richard Thompson on February 14, 1952. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1988. Irene enjoyed boating, quilting and puzzle making. Also she enjoyed spending time with her friends, family and grand dogs. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Thompson, Des Moines; son, Robert Thompson, Bettendorf; grandson, Brian Thompson, granddaughter, Candice Johnson; great grandchild, Cory William Thompson, all from West Des Moines; god daughter, Samantha Williams, Rock Island; sister, Jeanette Gagon Frenette; brothers, Norman Frenette and George Frenette all from Fall River, MA and lifelong friend Mary Williams, Bettendorf. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Loretta Gandmason, Lucille Normandin, and Claudette Banglewicz; and brother Edmond “Moe” Frenette.
