Per his request, cremation rites will be accorded. There will be no services. His final resting place will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may go to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Hoyt was born on May 3, 1930 in La Porte, IN, the son of William Marian and Ada (Boring) Bush. He married Helma Ochs on August 22, 1953 in Kronberg, Germany. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2010.
He served in the Army from 1951 until 1953.
He worked as a terminal supervisor for Mobil Oil for over 30 years. He enjoyed traveling annually to Florida with his friends and loved to golf and go to the casinos. His greatest joy was spending time with family, especially his grandsons and attending their sporting events and also being with his great grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Sandy Gonzalez, Davenport and Connie McGlothlen, Peoria, IL; grandsons, Tony (Melissa) Bladel and Teren (Faith) Bladel, both of Davenport and several great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Hoyt was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Roy Gonzalez and four brothers. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff and nurses at Clarissa Cook Hospice House for the wonderful care given to our father during his time with them.
