Gary was born on September 14, 1941 in West Frankfort, IL, to Eugene and Lala (Fox) McDaniel. On October 10, 1959 he married Annegrete Rohwer in Rock Island, IL.
Gary enjoyed fishing, woodworking, boating, yard work, Rend Lake, Lake of the Ozarks, spending time with his grandsons, his pre-dawn alone coffee-time, living in the countryside, his grand-dogs Molly and Addie, and great grand-dog Gunter, but most of all he loved his wife, Anne. And, for many years he mastered the art of collecting pancreas and bile (those of you who know, know). Gary valued hard work, the mentality of family first and the ability to work through adversity.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anne McDaniel; children, Michael McDaniel and Kimberly (Jim) Morrissey; grandsons, Parker James and Connor Michael; brother, Harold (Carol) McDaniel; and sister,
Sandy Sweetland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bill, Paul, Don, Jerry, and Joe McDaniel; and sisters, Phyllis Williams and Barbara Wyant.
