Elfriede Cornish

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2024 from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Runge Mortuary. Funeral Service will follow at 12:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Oakdale Memorial Gardens. She was born the daughter to Heinrich and Katrina Bämpfer in Fulda, Germany on October 17, 1933. She married the love of her life, Chuck Cornish, on July 14, 1956.

Friede worked at the Rock Island Arsenal in shipping until her retirement. She loved cooking and family gatherings.

Those left to cherish her memory include children, Evelyn Nazare, Erika Clough, Albert Cornish, Rita Cornish, Lea Cornish, and Timothy Cornish; grandchildren, Thomas Carpenter, Jessica Cornish, Ricky Clough, Nick Cornish, and Jacob Cornish; great-grandchildren, Kendall Clough, Dalton Clough, Aysiah Gregan, and Addison Cornish; and great-great-grandchild, Kamden Robinson; as well as her brothers, Hermann Bämpfer and Wolfgang Bämpfer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings.
