Diane I Duckworth

Funeral services for Diane I. Duckworth, 65, of Davenport will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary in Davenport. A rosary will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. Mrs. Duckworth died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.Diane Isabella Cortez was born on September 28, 1951 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Bernard and Lupe (Vasquez) Cortez. Following her graduation from Alleman High School in Rock Island, she married Oran “Dale” Duckworth on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1970. She was employed for 15 years at the Davenport Lutheran Home and then began work as a daycare provider. She was known to all as “Mom”, “Grandma”, and “GG”. Mrs. Duckworth was a longtime and very active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport where she also taught CCD until her failing health. She was a beautiful lady both inside and out.She is survived by – her Husband: Oran “Dale” Duckworth of Davenport; a Daughter: Brandi (Willie Watson) Duckworth of Silvis, IL; 2 Sons: Stephen (Erin) Duckworth of Lakeville, MN, and Paul Duckworth of Davenport; 3 Brothers: David Cortez and Marcus (Laura) Cortez of Rock Island, and Mario Cortez of Albuquerque, NM; a Sister-in-law: Bertha Cortez; 9 Grandchildren: Zach, Dylan, Cole, Drake, Alexis, Devin, Ryan, and Madison; 2 Great-Granddaughters: Hayden and Grace and 2 Great-Grandsons: Jacob and Daniel.She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Lawrence & Butch, and a grandson, Austin.
