Delmer L. Skeel

Delmer L. Skeel, 84, of Bettendorf passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at home with family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Geneses Hospice or American Lung Association. Online condolences can be left at www.rungemortuary.com. Delmer was born September 8, 1932 in Stanhope, IA son of Chester and Winona (Whiteaker) Skeel. He was united in marriage to Pat Boice on October 21, 1955. He was a passionate man who enjoyed farming and automotive. In his spare time, he enjoyed baking, spending time with family and watching westerns. He was very trusting and giving to everyone he met. His faith in God throughout his life was strong and he loved to tell people about Jesus. Delmer was extremely loving and proud of his two daughters, Daphne (Carlos) Ramirez and DeLaine “Dee” (Randee) Loofbourow. He loved his seven grandchildren and spouses along with five great grandchildren. Delmer is also survived by his sister, Pat (John) Deen and brother, Jerry (Delores) Skeel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Skeel, his parents Chester and Winona Skeel, two sisters and a brother. Also a very good friend, Katherine Andresen.
